What’s going on here

PEMF is having a moment. We’ve been hired to find out what’s actually real.

The wellness world is filling up with new recovery technology, and PEMF sits near the front of it, partly because, unlike most of what’s surging right now, it has a real track record behind it rather than just marketing.

Right now, a maker bringing a new professional-grade device to the United States, one built with medical-grade components and backed by hundreds of patents worldwide, has contracted Health Reviewers to gather honest, first-person feedback from real people trying it. That’s the project.

And that contract is what makes these sessions free. You get real pro-grade PEMF; we get your honest experience. They’re paying for the truth, whatever it turns out to be, and your name never travels with it.

So, what is it?

PEMF, in one line: a gentle, pulsed magnetic signal, and all you do is sit with it.

PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field. The key word is pulsed: a soft, timed magnetic signal delivered through a device you sit or lie on. No needles. No current on your skin. Nothing to take off but your shoes.

It’s not a sauna, not red light, not a magnet taped to your wrist, and not the little zap of a TENS unit. It’s an invisible magnetic field, run in gentle pulses, usually for about twenty minutes at a time.

Where it came from

PEMF isn’t new. It’s one of the few recovery tools with a real paper trail.

1979

The U.S. FDA clears the first PEMF devices, for helping stubborn bone fractures heal. That specific clinical use is still in practice today.

Early 2000s

NASA studies pulsed electromagnetic fields for tissue repair and the health of astronauts, whose bodies deteriorate without Earth’s forces acting on them.

Since then

Thousands of studies examine PEMF across a wide range of uses, with results that run from strong to mixed depending on the application. Meanwhile the wellness market fills with devices making claims that run well ahead of that research.

Now

PEMF is one of the fastest-growing categories in wellness studios and recovery centers. Which is exactly when honest, first-person feedback matters most.

Why people pay for it

Enough people feel something worth coming back for that a whole market grew up around it.

PEMF isn’t fringe anymore. People pay real money for it: home devices, studio sessions, memberships, all on the promise that it helps. It’s one of the modalities the wellness world won’t stop talking about.

But here’s the part that has nothing to do with us: you almost always have to pay before you’ve felt a thing. A session, a membership, a device, committed to on someone else’s promise, before your own body has told you whether it’s one of your things. That’s the part we think is backwards.

Consumer grade

A few hundred dollars

Mats and pads for home use: lower power, simpler programs. What most people have tried, if they’ve tried PEMF at all.

What you’ll try

Professional grade

Thousands to tens of thousands

The systems studios and recovery centers run: more power, more control. This is the tier we match reviewers to, including the new professional-grade device now arriving in the U.S.

Medical grade

Tens to hundreds of thousands

Clinical systems used in medical settings for cleared uses, like the bone-healing application the FDA approved decades ago.

So why give it away?

Because we already earn our living in health technology, and this is how we do the work.

We make our money through research, independent audits, and partnerships in the space, not by charging you at the door. What we need are places for people to experience emerging technology first-hand, because real, felt experience is the thing we study. When someone tries something and later chooses to buy it, that happens with the provider, not with us. Plenty of people won't buy anything, and that is completely fine.

We’re also a research program, and here’s the honest heart of it: what we actually want back is your experience. You’re not a customer we’re squeezing. You’d be a Health Reviewer, and your real, in-your-own-body take is the thing we value most. Free access, in exchange for quality feedback. That’s the whole deal.

What a session’s actually like

You sit down, or lie back, and mostly you just… rest.

A session runs about twenty minutes. You stay fully clothed. Shoes off is as far as it goes. Some devices add gentle warmth or a soft vibration you can feel; the magnetic signal itself is usually subtle, or unfelt.

One session is a taste; three is the start of a real read. Some things show up on the first sit, others only across several, which is why we start you with more than one.

What might you notice? Some people notice something right away; many notice little or nothing at first. Both are completely normal, and both are exactly what we want to hear about. There’s no right thing to feel.

And a word of honesty on the science: the research is real, but results vary by use, and the claims on specific devices often run well ahead of it. So we don’t tell you what PEMF will do for you. We’re far more interested in what you actually experience, and in helping you find out whether it’s worth your time, on your own terms.

Who’s behind this
Ryan, founder of Health Reviewers

I’m Ryan, an experiential anthropologist, which is a fancy way of saying I’ve spent twenty-five years chasing one question: what actually helps real people? Not on paper, in a study, but in a real body, in a real life.

You can’t answer that from a lab. You answer it by getting real people to try real things and tell you honestly what happened. That’s the whole reason Health Reviewers exists. I’m paying for your sessions because I want to learn from your experience. You get access you’d never have found on your own; I get my research. Fair trade, no halo.

Good questions

Everything else you’re probably wondering.

What happens after I apply?

A real person, not a bot, not an autoresponder, reviews your application and reaches out within 24–48 business hours. We match you on your area, your times, your goals, and how you’d like to visit, then tell you exactly what’s open near you.

How do you decide where I go?

We match, we don’t assign. Based on your ZIP, your availability, what you’re hoping for, and whether you’d rather visit openly or incognito, we point you to real opportunities near you: some you can drop into anytime, some by RSVP or invitation. As new ones open up in your area, we let you know.

We don’t publish our locations. That’s deliberate: it keeps your opportunities from getting scooped, and it means the spots stay genuinely available to the reviewers we’ve matched them to.

What if I’m not approved?

First, the easy part: applying costs you nothing, and most people move forward. If we can’t place you in PEMF right now (usually just a matter of fit, timing, or what’s open near you), you’re never stuck with nothing. You choose what happens next:

  • Clear out. Have us delete your information from our system entirely. No questions, no hard feelings.
  • Try something else. Explore other modalities we can get you into instead.
  • Hold your spot. Stay on the waiting list for free PEMF as it opens up near you, and get free access to our online classes in the meantime.

Taking the classes and joining our live Q&A’s isn’t required to be selected, but it’s a good way to get more out of all of this, so we recommend it.

What happens when I go in?

You show up at the spot we matched you with and, if you chose to visit incognito, you’re just another guest. Shoes off, sit or lie back, about twenty minutes, and notice what you feel. That’s it. No pressure to buy anything, ever.

And after the session?

You share your honest take: a couple of minutes on how you felt before, during, and after. That’s the whole job, and it’s what makes you a Health Reviewer. Follow through and, depending on the quality of your reviews and what’s open near you, you can unlock more free sessions as they come and go, plus ongoing access at 25–75% off, sometimes more, which we cover as a reimbursement. First crack at new technologies, too.

How is my feedback and data stored, shared, and used?

Private by default. You hold the dial. Your information stays yours: you decide what’s included, and nothing is shared anywhere you haven’t approved. Anything that ever informs our research is anonymized first. We’re a listening operation, not an exposure one.

So what actually gets shared, and to whom?

By default, nothing that identifies you: only anonymized, aggregated patterns that help the research. When findings reach the people who make a technology, it’s blind by design: they get the patterns, never the people. Beyond that, you can choose, share by share: let the place you visited see your feedback, or let a maker hear it directly. Your name never travels without your say-so, and you can change your mind anytime.

What’s in it for me?

You get to feel technologies you’d never have paid to try, and find your own one or two things in months instead of a decade of hype cycles. You get ongoing access at a fraction of the door price. And you get sharper at reading your own body, a quietly valuable thing to be good at. Plus you help build the real map of what actually works, and for whom.

Why are you really doing this?

Because the whole industry shouts most powerful, most advanced, most effective, and almost never asks the only question that matters: what actually helps you. Nobody ever really mapped that, because nobody thought to just ask real people what these things feel like. So that’s what we’re building, with you, one honest experience at a time.

How this works

You don’t pick a place. We find your fit.

Tell us your area, when you’re free, what you’re after, and whether you’d rather visit openly or incognito. Then we match you to what’s actually open near you, and give you a heads-up as new opportunities come and go. Some you can drop into anytime; some are by RSVP or invitation.

Right now we’re matching reviewers with at least 3 free PEMF sessions across Phoenix, Glendale, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, and Chandler, spanning a real range of technology grades and settings.

We don’t list our locations publicly, which keeps your opportunities from getting scooped. The moment you’re in, you’ll know exactly what’s available to you.
